Life Education Duck Race

The Life Education Canterbury Duck Race is a fun day out for the whole family. Raising much needed funds to help deliver the Life Education programme to school children in Canterbury, the duck race takes place on the first Sunday in November on the beautiful Te Papa Otakaro, Avon River Precinct. Ducks are dropped into the Avon River from The Bridge of Remembrance and thenĀ  travel downstream to the finish lineĀ  at the Hereford Street bridge. There are three duck races on the day:

  1. Corporate Duck Race See businesses that supported the Duck Race compete dressed and decorated to represent their organisation - with great prizes up for grabs!
  2. Sponsors Race
  3. Community Duck Race: Hundreds of small rubber ducks will be launched into the Avon River in the race to win one of three great prizes. Entry to the race is $10 (note the physical ducks are not purchased), $5 will go directly to Life Education, the other $5 will go towards a Life Education session at your nominated school.
